LiveThe NSW Working with Children Check is a mandatory check for any adult working or volunteering in child-related roles in New South Wales. It is administered by the Office of the Children's Guardian.
Working with Children Check (VIC)
LiveThe Victorian Working with Children Check is required for anyone engaging in child-related work in Victoria. It is administered by the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Blue Card (QLD)
LiveThe Queensland Blue Card is the working with children check for anyone working with children and young people in Queensland. It is administered by Blue Card Services.
Working with Children Card (WA)
The Western Australia Working with Children Card is required for child-related work in WA. It is administered by the Department of Communities.
Working with Children Check (SA)
The South Australian Working with Children Check is required for child-related work in SA. It is administered by the Department of Human Services.
Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (TAS)
The Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People is required for work with children, the elderly, and people with disability in Tasmania.
Working with Vulnerable People (ACT)
The ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration is required for child-related and vulnerable-persons work in the Australian Capital Territory.
Ochre Card (NT)
The Northern Territory Ochre Card is the working with children check for child-related work in the NT. It is administered by Northern Territory Police.
First Aid & Emergency Response
(5)HLTAID012 — Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
HLTAID012 is the nationally recognised first aid course required for educators working in education and care settings in Australia. It supersedes HLTAID004.
HLTAID009 — Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID009 is the nationally recognised CPR course. It is the annual refresher component of the broader first aid qualifications.
HLTAID011 — Provide First Aid
HLTAID011 is the nationally recognised general workplace first aid course. It is widely used across aged care and is the foundation of any first aid qualification.
Anaphylaxis Management Training
Anaphylaxis management training is required for childcare educators and other staff who may need to respond to severe allergic reactions. It is typically delivered as part of HLTAID012 but is also a standalone unit.
Asthma Management Training
Asthma management training is required for childcare educators to recognise and respond to asthma episodes. It is typically bundled with first aid and anaphylaxis training.
Qualifications
(4)Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121)
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) is the minimum entry-level qualification for educators in Australian childcare services.
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121)
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121) is the qualification required for educators in charge of a room in most Australian childcare services, and is the standard qualification for second-in-charge and educational leader roles.
Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
A four-year Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent is required to be recognised as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) in Australia.
ECT (Early Childhood Teacher) Registration
Early Childhood Teachers must hold current registration with their state teacher registration authority. Registration is calendar-year based, not anniversary based.

A Food Safety Supervisor certificate is required for any childcare or aged care service that prepares and serves food. At least one supervisor per service is required.
Sun Protection Training
Sun protection training educates childcare educators on UV safety, sunscreen application, hat policies, and the SunSmart guidelines.
Manual Handling Training
Manual handling training teaches safe techniques for lifting, carrying, and supporting children, residents, and equipment.
